Things are changing in the world of beauty. If you still think yoghurt is only good on granola, or the idea of rubbing ground coffee on your skin makes you shudder, the chances are you’re beginning to exist in the minority. Somewhere between jargon-heavy ingredients lists and £100 eye creams promising (and failing) to make you look ten years younger, beauty is shunning science, embracing nature and listening up to “kitchen table chemistry”.

That’s where Elsie and Dominika of Clean Beauty Co come in. We’ve sung the praises of their DIY beauty recipes before - firstly back when we interviewed them for the journal, and secondly when we launched their capsule range of products online at Glasshouse Shop last year. But this week, they’ve released a book.

Clean Beauty: Recipes to Manage Your Beauty Routine, Naturally, is a collection of recipes that use natural, affordable, kitchen cupboard ingredients to make the toners, cleansers, teeth whiteners and face masks of your non-toxic dreams.

“We’re in complete control over every single ingredient that we put all over our bodies, and our skin and hair has never looked better” say the girls, “Our company and our new book is the result of our journey: drawn from endless hours of study, practice and a diploma in Natural Skincare Foundation.”

If that doesn’t convince you that this book deserves a spot on your coffee table, then we’re not sure what will. Plus, we’ve had a sneak peek of the Clean Beauty pages - below you can find an exclusive recipe for a super simple bronzer, made with four ingredients you’ll probably already have in your spice rack. Bring on the revolution, we say.
