Front of House & Content Manager (Freelance, Part-time):

We are seeking a dynamic and creative part-time Front of House & Content Manager to play a vital role in our salon's daily operations and online presence. 

This multifaceted role will encompass welcoming clients and managing reception duties, whilst also leading our social media and marketing by creating and curating engaging content and supporting our online shop. This is an exciting opportunity to break into the wellness and beauty industry and be a part of the development of London’s original destination for sustainable hair, beauty and wellbeing.

We are looking for someone creative, organised and personable to help cultivate strategic partnerships, create impactful wellness experiences, and amplify our brand's reach through engaging community outreach and creative content. 

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye and aligned aesthetic, highly organised and personable individual with excellent communication skills, a passion for our brand values (organic hair and beauty, wellbeing, and sustainability), and a proactive approach to tasks. You will be integral to creating a positive experience for our clients both in person and online. This is a freelance, part-time role requiring Saturdays and one week day. Flexibility may be required.

Responsibilities:

Front of House & Client Experience (Approximately 50% of Time):

  • Running the salon reception: taking bookings (phone, online, in-person), managing the email account, greeting and communicating effectively with clients, and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Managing the daily schedule for our team of Stylists and Assistants, ensuring the smooth flow of appointments.
  • Maintaining high salon standards in regards to cleanliness, organisation, and overall client experience.
  • Processing payments and managing the point-of-sale system.
  • Addressing client inquiries and resolving any issues promptly and professionally, escalating where necessary.
  • Supporting the team with ad-hoc administrative tasks.

Social Media & Content Creation (Approximately 30% of Time):

  • Creating and supporting with the creation of engaging content (photos, short videos, stories) showcasing salon services, client transformations, and product features for social media platforms (primarily Instagram, potentially others).
  • Gathering and curating user-generated content from clients.
  • Planning, scheduling and posting of social media content.
  • Monitoring social media engagement and responding to comments and messages.
  • Staying up-to-date with social media trends and best practices to develop and implement engaging strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Write and publish engaging journal/blog posts that align with our brand's voice and wellness philosophy.

E-commerce & Marketing Support (Approximately 20% of Time):

  • Assisting with the management of our online store, Glasshouse Shop: packing and fulfilling customer orders and responding to basic customer queries related to online orders.
  • Supporting the maintenance of accurate online product listings and inventory. 
  • Contributing and actualising ideas for online promotions and marketing campaigns and newsletters. 
  • Creation of basic email marketing content

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a reception, front-of-house, or customer service role is highly preferred.
  • A genuine interest in and understanding of social media platforms, design and content creation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a friendly and professional manner.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and can-do attitude with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A genuine interest in organic beauty, wellbeing, and sustainability, aligning with Glasshouse Salon's core values.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort using scheduling software and social media platforms (Canva, Shopify)

Requirements:

  • Stylist: 2 years 
  • Hairdressing: 2 years

Licence/Certification:

  • Hairdressing NVQ/SVQ Level 2/3 (preferred)
