Although we love the idea of setting our alarms that little bit earlier to make time for a filling breakfast, we often end up buying our morning munch on the way in to work. To solve this, we’ve come up with our own recipe that can be prepared and packaged the evening before so all you have to do in the morning is grab your jar and go!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup rolled oats or gluten-free oats
2 teaspoons chia seeds
agave syrup (sweeten to taste)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 – 2/3 cup milk of choice (oat, almond, rice or cow’s)
1 grated apple
1/4 cup fresh berries- raspberries, blueberries or sliced strawberries
Method:
Place all ingredients apart from the berries into a bowl and stir together gently
Transfer mixture into a jar and top with berries
Leave to soak in fridge overnight (at least 6 hours)
Take jar out of the fridge, take lid off and go!
These oats are delicious as they are, but if you do have any extra seconds to spare you can also throw on some toppings to add some extra flavour and crunch! Our favourites are mixed seeds, nuts, more berries or sliced banana and nut butter.
