Glasshouse Goes Cashless

Glasshouse Goes Cashless

Newsflash! Something’s changed at Glasshouse Salon. As of Monday 6th November 2017, we decided to stop accepting all cash payments.

The decision was made for our staff and the security of our salon, however we like to think we’re also moving with the times a bit. In an era of contactless cards, thumbprints and payments being made via face recognition, (yes, that is a thing!) the decision was made to jump on the 21st Century bandwagon.

In full support of a cash free economy, our salon director Olivia says: “I wanted to go cashless for a number of reasons. As a small business owner, I’m constantly trying to find ways to utilise my team’s time in a more efficient manner. No cash means a much smoother banking process and helps ensure higher safety of the salon.”

2017 unearthed new Bank of England controversy, with the release of polymer notes containing animal fats. Despite protests and petitions from animal rights activists, the new bank notes still went into circulation much to the displeasure of millions of vegans and religious groups alike.

“I was shocked to find out that the new banknotes contain animal fat - something that is at odds with my business’ ethos. I want Glasshouse to be at the forefront of the direction in which many independent businesses are heading. Which means moving with the times, keeping current and pushing for innovative new solutions such as this.”

Though cash is no longer king, Glasshouse will still accept all forms of debit and credit cards, American Express and Apple Pay, for a more secure and efficient payment system. We hope you support our decision and understand our reasons why. We look forward to seeing you in the salon soon!
