Meet the Team: In conversation with Senior Stylist Georgia Lawrence

We are so thrilled to welcome a familiar face back to the Glasshouse team.

After a year spent developing her own wellness venture and deepening her practice in conscious living, Georgia returns to the salon as a Senior Stylist. She brings with her a unique blend of high-end technical expertise and a calm, intentional energy that perfectly aligns with our holistic values.

Whether you're looking for her signature lived-in balayage or a relaxed, textured haircut that works with your natural movement, Georgia is now available for bookings Tuesday to Thursday and alternating Fridays.

You’ve had a year away building your own wellness space. What was the biggest lesson you learned during that time that you’re excited to bring back to the salon chair?

My time away was really about deepening my understanding of conscious living. The biggest lesson was realising how vital it is to feel truly at ease and supported during your self-care time. I’ve learned that "holding space" isn't just about the physical environment; it’s about the energy you bring to it. I’m returning to Glasshouse with a renewed sense of presence, ensuring that when a client is in my chair, they feel they have permission to truly slow down and reset.

At Glasshouse, we value a holistic approach. How does your experience in wellbeing change the way you approach a client consultation?

It has made my approach much more grounded and thoughtful. Instead of just looking at the hair, I’m looking at the person. I want to know how their hair fits into their life and their ritual. I now work with greater intention, focusing on a calm and refined consultation that ensures the final look feels like a true reflection of their internal state, natural, effortless, and easy to live with.

You’ve always had a penchant for "lived-in" hair. Glasshouse is known for being an organic hair salon in East London—how does our natural, non-ammonia philosophy fit into your approach to hair "wellness"?

It fits perfectly. Coming back to Organic Colour Systems feels like a natural extension of my own personal values. To me, "well" hair starts with the ingredients we put on it. Using non-ammonia hair colour and natural, gentle products means we can achieve those soft, blended balayages and creamy blondes without compromising the hair's integrity or the environment.

My Vidal Sassoon style training and working with traditional hair colour brands gave me a strong technical foundation, but I’ve found that the organic and sustainable approach at Glasshouse allows for a much more intuitive result. It’s about creating hair that doesn't need to be fought with, hair that is healthy from the inside out, has a seamless grow-out, and feels as good as it looks. For anyone looking for a natural hair salon in East London, that balance of high-performance results and conscious care is exactly what I strive to provide.

What does your own morning ritual look like now that you’re back in the salon environment?

Mornings are really important to me, I usually start with a gentle walk to let daylight in, followed by exercise. From there I like to prepare myself a warm cup of Cacao and practise meditation before making my way to the salon. I find starting my mornings this way allows me to arrive at the salon feeling centred and present.

You’ve previously hosted meditation for the team—do you see any parallels between your wellness practices and the "unhurried" experience of a hair appointment?

Absolutely. Both are about creating a pocket of time where the outside world falls away. Whether I'm leading a meditation class, a soul sunday retreat afternoon or refining a soft layering cut, the goal is the same: to create a soft, unhurried space. I want my clients to leave not just looking better, but feeling more balanced.

Outside of the salon and your wellness practice, where in London do you go to "reset"?

A lot of my life already moves at a slower, more peaceful pace. Between the wellness space and the salon, there's a natural sense of calm built into my days. Because of that, when I'm not resetting through my own mindfulness practices, I'm often drawn to the opposite. I love doing something fun and energising with my all time favourite being concerts or discovering a new restaurant. The contrast helps my energy build again, keeping me feeling creatively inspired.
