Founder Story

Olivia Crighton is London's leading pioneer in organic, holistic hair and wellbeing and the founder of Glasshouse Salon and IM__Frequency Medicine. She combines over 20 years of expertise in the hair and beauty industry with her clinical practice as a holistic skin facialist Systematic Kinesiologist and Energy Medicine Practitioner.

Originally from New Zealand, Olivia is an intuitive healer who uses a functional medicine lens to identify the root causes of physical and emotional imbalances. Having studied nutrition extensively with a vested interest in its impact on skin and scalp vitality, she bridges the gap between high-performance beauty and internal health. She lives in Sussex with her daughter and practices from the Glasshouse Therapy Room in East London.

The Story of Glasshouse: London’s Original Organic Hair & Beauty Destination

In late 2012, Olivia founded Glasshouse Salon in East London’s Netil House with a clear, vision: to prove that high-performance hair care and aesthetic excellence did not have to come at the cost of health or the environment. As one of London’s original destinations for organic hair and wellbeing, Glasshouse was built on the foundation of transparency and sustainability.

By introducing Organic Colour Systems and a curated edit of botanical-led brands to a fashion-forward audience, Olivia shifted the conversation around "green beauty" from a niche interest to a luxury standard. Over the last decade, Glasshouse has evolved from a boutique salon into a multidisciplinary hub where hair science, internal health, and energy medicine intersect.

The Journey: From New Zealand to London Editorial

Olivia’s path began in New Zealand, where an innate sensitivity to her environment led her to begin her journey as a healer nearly two decades ago. This early connection to energy medicine remained a constant as her career took her into the high-pressure world of fashion and session hair styling. Working for publications such as Vogue, i-D, Harper’s Bazaar, and Russh, she gained an elite understanding of hair science and aesthetic.

It was on the salon floor at Glasshouse, observing the physical manifestations of stress and depletion in her clients, that she returned to her holistic roots. Her observations of hair loss and scalp health led to the recent development of the Glasshouse Hair, Skin, and Body Supplement—a venture designed to support the "fluid body" and provide the internal nutrition necessary for external vitality.

IM__Frequency Medicine

Born from Olivia’s intuitive work as an energy healer and her interest in frequency based medicine & herbalism, IM__Frequency Medicine is a collection of bespoke remedies designed to support the soul-healing process. Olivia hand blends each remedy, her crystal essences each bathed under specific lunar or solar cycles, combining gem-based elixirs with traditional Bach flower remedies.

These medicines are an extension of Olivia’s lifelong attunement to energy and frequency. As a healer, she designed each chakra based medicine formula to realign the central meridians and restore emotional equilibrium, bridging the gap between ancient ritual and modern wellbeing.

In 2024, this evolved into the Glasshouse Hair, Skin & Body Supplement. Born from Olivia’s clinical work in Biomedicine and Kinesiology, the range addresses the internal "root causes" of depletion by focusing on bioavailable nutrients and the "fluid body."
