12 months of smoothies: July

Our smoothie for July is a showstopper, consisting of two of our favourite fruits and one iron packed vegetable, spinach. We all know spinach is good for you, it helps to keep your hair, skin and nails healthy and has been touted as being able to lower your risk of cancer. The idea of a spinach smoothie might not appeal to most, so lucky we’ve thrown in pomegranate and blueberry to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Thanks to the pomegranate’s high antioxidant content, this red “jeweled” fruit is one of the top natural remedies for maintaining skin elasticity and promoting collagen production. Blueberries are guilt free fruit you can happily add to your diet, high in nutrients and low in calories they make a great snack as well as smoothie ingredient option.

You know the drill. Just throw the following ingredients in to a blender and wizz away for a truly delicious and nutritious treat!

Ingredients:

1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup pomegranate juice
1 cup spinach
½ banana
4 ice cubes
